Chute and Spire on Bell

Please click "LARGE" for a close-up view of the Class 5 chute and Class 5.8 spire on the NE side of Arizona's Bell Rock. This photo was taken near the terminus of the Bell Rock Trail, which spurs off the loop trail. When my wife and I did the loop hike, there were several patches of snow remaining along the northern section of the loop. You might want to watch out for "slick spots" if you do Bell in winter. A "Class 4" assent/descent can be found to the right of the Class 5 chute labeled in this picture. January 9, 2009
