Most of the rest of the Santa Monicas have been strangled by development (it could have turned out much differently), but this is a real gem. The last time I hiked here, though, it was overrun by an unbelievable number of "hikers" - many with dogs in tow. Still beautiful, but next time I won't pick a holiday weekend to go.
