Clements from Reynolds North Face Traverse

Clements from Reynolds North Face Traverse

Clements Mountain from the north face of Reynolds. The north face is an exciting place with unforgettable views-- just make sure you watch the route while you gape at the scenery. Glacier National Park, MT--July 2006

Nice perspective

Great shot - the lighting is perfect to show many of the features on the face quite well making it easy to pick out many of the traverse ledges on the East Face Routes - especially when viewed at original size.

Re: Nice perspective

Thanks, Fred. Yeah, somewhere there is also that nightmare of route-finding called the South Ridge. I look at this picture and wonder how the hell I ever found a way up. Next time, I'm taking the East Couloir, which I understand to be a harder start and a looser route but easier higher up and at least much easier to follow. I added this shot to the Clements page, too.

Re: Nice perspective

Yes, my daughter and I started up the South Ridge and decided about half way that it would be far easier (route finding wise) and more fun to traverse north and finish via the East Couloir. It proved to be a very nice variation, missing some of the more difficult climbing low in the couloir, but still joining it lower than via the route described by Edwards from the north.
