Im sure it was my pack :) It was quite heavy. Big head? No. Just happy and proud of myself! But also satisfied and humble about it. No one cares really that I did this except me. That's because I reached one of my goals. I climb because I love it-not to have a big head about it. I think everyone deserves to have a moment where they reach a goal of theres.
Not raining on his accomplishment, quite the contrary I think its pretty impressive. The TR just came off a little too self congratulatory in my opinion.
The Diamond has a great history of young climbers: check out Roger Briggs.

My climbing partner and I climbed it for the first time when we were 17 and 18, and I didn't sleep a wink the night before because I was scared to death.
Good TR and what a start to a lifetime of climbing. How wonderful to have everything in front of you, age and all those walls and places to go to and climb. Good luck, good climbing. Alois.
It is. Thanks! What a journey it has been. And such a learning experience. You never stop learning in climbing. There is always something to be learned.

Re: Don't get too hung up....Agreed! That does not really matter. What matters is that I had such a blast!

Re: Don't get too hung up....Are you sure that it was your pack that was throwing you off balance on the crux or your big head?

DudeCool climb. I began at a similar age, though nothing as fierce and exposed as this impressive achievement.
Remember though. Double check, be sure, back out to live another day when it looks ominous. Never screw up. Cheers.
