Second time up (6/5/11), went up some northeast facing slopes to the east ridge and skied back down the south slopes off the summit. Went up with Floyd, Cheeseburglar and Astrobassman. Good snow conditions, still a lot of snow in the upper basins but the first mile of the road is a mix of patchy snow and melt-off condtions (running water, puddles, mud etc).
Third time up (8/27/22), big group for Lindsay's centennial finisher!

CT Trifecta
Summited Clinton, McNamee and Traver from Montgomery Reservoir. Overall a great day hiking/scrambling along the Continental Divide. It was also nice not seeing anyone, including 4 wheelers, on the entire route. Solitude is bliss. It reminded me of a similar trip a few years ago climbing French, Frasco and Casco.

'Clipper' + Wheeler & North Star
Hiked and scrambled Traver, McNamee and Clinton originally. We added on Wheeler and North Star. Long day with great weather and some sloggish class-2 to Traver, some decent 3rd class scrambling over to Wheeler and some hairy 4th class over to North Star.
Hiked with GF, Stephanie Lynn.
Not sure what number Centennial this is but I'm sure starting to run out of nearby ones.... boo!

Enjoyed this summit along with Traver Peak & McNamee Peak. I was pleasantly surprised by all of the snow. We enjoyed plenty of moderate angle snow work, glissading, etc. A misscommunication resulted in me not finding my team at the trailhead. I had to hoof an extra 1/2 mile and left 15 minutes after they did, but I caught up with my climbing team at the first snow field. Whew, I was tired already. This is a great outing! Traver SW face
Climbed Traver via the SW face. Roach 13er book calls this a moderate snow climb at 34 degrees, it is certainly steeper in spots. Nice -long- snow climb, sustained for 2,000' vertical. We traversed over McNamee to Clinton. Decended via the SW face of McNamee.

A very fun snow climb up Clinton, ridge stroll to McNamee, and some scrambling (which is optional)to tag Traver made a perfect day in the mountains. Weather was outstanding, as was the company (Altitude14er)

welcome to winter
started winter off right by summiting mcnamee and clinton. conditions were downright brutal(zero degrees, 40-55mph winds and -35 to -45 windchill) and had me thinking i somehow wandered into alaska!
passed on traver to escape further misery. some other time.....

From the west
Ascended Clinton from Clinton Amphitheatre. Traversed out and back to Traver. Attempted Bartlett from the Bartlett/Clinton saddle but could not figure out a safe approach to the summit block along the incredibly complicated east ridge.

Clinton to Traver
A nice place, although that hike in is somewhat obnoxious due to the numerous jeeps/waterholes/mudpits/ankle twisters. I love the Wheeler Lake area though.
