Nice but quite dangerous due to rockfall. Anyway - good day out.

Rif. Contrin to Val di San Nicolo
last day of a 5-day-trip through Marmolada Group. We started at Rif. Contrin and hiked via Passo di San Nicolo to Forcella Negra. Via the normal route ferrata to the summit with one of the best panoramas I ever had on a summer day. We proceeded in estern direction and descended crossing Sass d'Adam to Val di San Nicolo

Via Ferrata dei Finanzieri
Nice ferrata! A helmet is highly recommended as stone fall is frequent. I had none and got a stone shower. Luckily there was a place to retreat (a small overhang). Not a very pleasant experience... The summit views are great, one can see the immense south face of Marmolada. Descended via the normal route.

Nice & fairly hard ferrata, but not as hard as sometimes described. There are some sections without handholds and steps - you need to use the rope and the friction of the soles of your shoes... ;) But that 's the fun about this route - except, if it's too wet.
Beautiful view from the summit: Vernel & Marmolada on the one side and the whole Sella-group on the other side. If you have perfect weather conditions like we had, it is incredible. We were at the summit of Marmolada the day before, so we enjoyed this special view very well!
