first time above the treeline  Sucess!

I know this is supposed to be an easy hike, but for a Florida girl, it was challenging. There are some steep grades, lots of wind, and not nearly as much oxygen as I'd like. The view from the top was so worth it! Now I want to do more.

Ski - super cold and windy day  Sucess!

Skinned up from Berthoud Pass, very windy above the tree line, snow wind blown at the summit, so skiing down the upper section of the mountain not so great. One of the coldest backcountry ski days I had! I followed the old ski lift to the summit to orient myself - it got so windy that I had no visibility at some points, so was following the posts of the old lift. Sometimes had to kneel down to keep myself secured from wind gusts.
Nice little cabin + restrooms at the top of the pass to get our boots ready etc. Wished for a nicer weather. Gentle slopes. Felt safe even when going alone (hard to avalanche on that mellow terrain).
