Common mallow

Common mallow (Malva Sylvestris L.) locally known as Crni sljez, sometimes Sumski sljez, is common biennial plant in the Maritime Dinaric Alps. Often found on rocky slopes, alongside shepperds paths and next to the abbandoned shepperd huts (plenty of the latter, sadly) Up to 1 meter (3 feet) tall, Common mallow flowers May to December, starting with deep green colored stem and leaves (see above pic), colors becoming evenmore less intense as season advances. Common mallow is very highly regarded for its medical value and healing properties, especially regarding lungs and respiratory tract.

There is also a nice album

for mallows on SP, and another one for heathers. You have great flora shots toc, I think that if you attach some of these pictures to the wildflower albums, they have a chance to be among the best-rated images there! And maybe you can start your own album for beautiful campanulas too :)
