Great Snow!
Fun and exciting! Cool cornice at the top. Experienced the best snow conditions I've ever climbed in.

Castle and Conundrum
With no vehicle, hiked in from camp at the beginning of the 4wd road. Climbed 5th class slabs from a notch in the North Ridge to the summit of Conundrum. Traversed to Castle and screed down to a good glissade and finally back to the road.

Climbed along with Castle
After climbing Castle, we did a very easy traverse over to the summit of Conundrum. Then we descended the ice field below the saddle.

2nd Time a Charm
Got chased off Castle last June in a white-out and had to forego Conundrum. Second time was a charm this year with regular climbing partners Alan and Robert.

Conundrum Coulior
Snow is going fast, but got in a good snow climb up the couloir. Cornice still at the top, but posed no problem. Some rocks and mud cutting late in the day were more worrisome, as was softening snow.

This is an awesome snow climb and highly recommended! Incredible views of Castle on the way up. Once on top it's an easy scramble over to Castle. Start early and go right of the cornice.

Copied myrone's trip
A nice climb. Met denalibound up there, a very nice guy. Make sure you go to the right peak! (if you don't see the tube lying there keep going!) Started at 10,200ft, total 5,200ft vert per gps. Snow is going fast at top of snowfield to saddle. Conundrum couloir is still looking sweet, I thought about it, but I was alone, late, and it looked pretty steep. Climb from saddle is not as loose as Castle - which is nice. Some very fun mellow glissades to be had!
Drove the Montezuma Rd as far as I could. Started up at 7:00AM with a snow ascent to the saddle between Castle and Conundrum. Hiked the ridge up to Conundrum Peak and then back across to Castle Peak. Hiked the NE ridge of Castle Peak back down to the snow and glissaded to the road and back to the truck at 12:27PM. Fun day with perfect weather. My 37th 14'er............sweet!
