From Garden Gate Trailhead
Beautiful spring Sunday morning. It rained the previous night and the trees were glistening in the morning sun. Started from the Garden Gate trailhead. 4.75 hour round trip hike of 10.4 miles. Spent 45 minutes at the top admiring the views into RMNP and beyond.

Crosier
January 13 2018
I got off work a little earlier, so I planned to climb Crosier Mountain and East Crosier since I hadn't done that one yet. About half way up Crosier, I noticed that I left the water bottle! I decided to go up anyway, but I ate a few handfuls of snow. The camera was also dead, so that was a disappointment as I wanted to get some photos from the summit with some light left (the summit was reached in the dark the previous two nights).
I reached the summit after sunset, but before dark and the sunset colors were still there. I decided not to do East Crosier since it looked far away and since I didn't have any water. The route looked like it would be pretty rugged in the dark too.
I walked down the trail to a saddle and then climbed Point 8430. It was probably good that I didn't climb East Crosier since I was tired by the time I reached the vehicle and it was well after dark.
January 12 2018
After work, I again climbed Crosier Mountain. I had a later start, so much of the climb was done in the dark. There was a skiff of fresh snow, but it wasn't a problem.
January 11 2018
After work, I climbed Knapps Knob and then Crosier Mountain. I was able to reach the summit of Knapps Knob before sunset, but it was well after dark before I reached the summit of Crosier.
It was a nice hike, but a long one to do after work. I saw a fox in the dark on the way down, but it took me a few seconds to figure out what it was.

Garden Gate
I hiked Crosier with Maria. This was my 3rd time. I had planned on starting from the Lower North Fork Trailhead, but there was one parking spot left at Garden Gate, so we took it. It started out sunny, then clouds started rolling in. We heard some distant thunder while we were on the summit. There were some brief episodes of very light rain on the way down, nothing major. Total hike time was a little under 6.5 hours.
A fun hike with my wife. The day was cool and windy, but new snow made for a beautiful hike. It warmed up nicely on the way down, so we decided to drive over to Triangle to get another peak in.

From Glen Haven
Passed every one on the ascent so I could have the peak to myself! Nothing to hear but wind in the lines and birdsong. Hardly a cloud in the sky - bright azure day! Slept in this morning and had cowboy breakfast at Molly B's. Ride with the top of the Jeep kinda day!

Did a quick run. The lower portion was murder on the calfs! Great day, only a couple hours and saw perhaps, 4 people all day. Running in just a T-shirt in February isn't right. :o(

I took my wife and six year old son on this hike. We saw a Williamson Sapsucker on the summit. Fall is definitely the best time of year to hike.

Garden Gate
This was my second time on Crosier. I hiked with my sister Liz, who was visiting from Idaho Falls. We started at 9:30, reached the top just before noon, and got back to the car at 2:15. This was my first hike of the season, and it was pretty tough. I guess I was a little out of shape. The weather was nice and sunny, and pretty breezy at the summit. We got back just in time, for there were some evil looking clouds rolling in.

Total assents 10. The first time was magical with the real Christmas trees covered with snow.
Great little hike to a summit with unsurpassed views of RMNP. Some snow along the trail and snowshoes were helpful in the trees. Not another sole around.
