Pretty steep
Wouldn't have minded having a second tool for this one.

crossed up
climbed the beautiful cross couloir w/mike. approach hike was much gentler than the boulder hopping nightmare to the bowl of tears which i was dreading! cloudy day, so the couloir remained pretty hard the entire way up. fantastic setting inside the walls of holy cross!
Ascent of Cross with Halo Descent. Patchy snow to East Cross Creek, more substantial as you start to climb towards Bowl of Tears, then patchy to entrance. Couloir is good for crampon ascent, but runnels and sun cups not so good for a ski descent, recommend leaving skis at home until next season on this one.

Awesomeness
Climbed the North Ridge and skied the Cross from the summit in late-winter powder. This is a spectacular couloir, it lived up to its reputation.

Great dayhike
Up the cross couloir, down the North ridge. Watch for rockfall as the snow softens up.

A great way up
Even though the hardest part was probably boot banging down the standard route and full packing it out of half moon pass on the descent

My best climb so far!
Early start to get the good snow, and topped out at 8:30am or so. Long way out due to the 1000 feet elevation gain to Halfmoon Pass.

Heavenly
Perfect day, long one-day ascent (13.5 hrs with plenty of breaks on the way out).
