Nice hike for family with small kids

great view
Hiked up the fire road to the summit and was rewarded with an impressive view. Took Conejo Trail back down to the fire road and linked up to the trail back to the campground to make a loop of it. Conejo tr. had a few downed trees across the trail and was a creek for much of it due to drainage problems.

3 Peak Day
Started out at Stonewall then came across to this peak (it's a little messy at the top right now) and then over to Middle Peak with its bevy of sheltered saplings. Can't wait to come back in 5 years and see the reforestation progress.

Whiteout
Fun little hike in the snow. Missed the spectacular views at the summit due to some major precipitation. Will head back soon.
Fun little hike. I parked at the West Mesa turnoff and took the West Side Trail to the fire road. Adds about 1.2 miles each way, but the West Side trail was a nice single track trail. Hiking on pavement is not the most fun, but the views from the top are spectacular. The State Park in general is one of the most beautiful areas in the county.
I can see my parents house (sort of) from the summit.

Ski Time
Great times with Deb skinning up to the top and then ski down....just before the masses destroyed the snow and rutted out the fire road. Nice snow though.

Lookout Fire Road
Snow from bottom to top. Climbed after Stonewall & before Middle Peak. Nice boot packed path on the road just one day after a big, cold storm. Lots of people hiking.

PowPow to da Summit
Took my honey on a XC ski trip in SD County. Skinned up and skied down on beautiful powder. Got snowed on a bit on the way up, a bit of wind, lost in a cloud but when the sun came out it was spectacular!

Via Fire Road
I hiked to the top with my brother-in-law and his son. There was ice on the trees and antenna which made for a surreal picture on top. You could hear the cracking of the ice as it melted and fell to the ground. I was only able to touch the top with my hand as the rock was covered with a thick veneer of ice.

Hiked with my baby
Literally hiked this with my 3 month old son on my chest. Beautiful views back in the day, but there is something wrong with a paved path to the top of any summit.

USE the Road!
First time skinning up Cuyamaca....had the place to myself. Was fairly icy and shot-out with deep bootprints, but I made it work. Beautiful sunny day, got myself a suntan and a great work-out! Feels kinda crazy to go XC skiing in San Diego County. :)

Avoid the road!
Took the paved road up. It was sad to look at all the burned trees. Being quite bored I fell asleep half the way up. Missed all the views from the top. On the way down we decided to take a trail that went to the saddle north of the peak. That was much more fun!
It became quite cold after the sun went down. Had to cry a bit so that my father would carry me in his arms. Much warmer this way!
