"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Cyclone Peak, Glacier National Park MontanaMy cousin took me up there and we met a guy from Minnesota manning the lookout so felt like a small world

Cyclone LookoutAn easy couple of miles to a truly impressive view of Glacier Park's Livingstone Range. The first third is on a closed, near-level USFS road, and the trail beyond is a mix of gentle pitches and unnecessarily steep upgrade. The sunrise view from the top is extraordinary.
This is a relatively good early- and late-season hike. The lookout is usually staffed between early July and mid-September; if the lookout invites you up, the view from the catwalk clears the trees and is a vast improvement over that from ground level.
