Headed up here with my wife for a nice Earth Day hike. We were originally planning on Bald Mountain but Big Mountain Pass is still closed. Great sunny weather. Tons of snow still on the Millcreek and Wildcat Ridges. It was a popular day to bag this one as we saw six other people heading up to the Peak. Tempted to hit Perkins but decided to save it for another day. A bit muddy on the last ascent of the false summit but other than that great conditions.

Happy Halloween
Ran an errand downtown and then hit this ridge for a nice fall trail run.

Cloudy and Snowy
A nice easy hike for once, wanted to go over to Perkins Peak but I had to get down for work in time. Maybe next week.
This reminds me of stuff and things that go up and down, pick your favorite one. The trail goes up and down until it just goes up! The views at the top are rather beautiful of the Millcreek ridge. I'd do it again if I was going to do it again.

Undulating
Hoppy Easter! This ridge goes up and down and doesn't even care. The last steep push to the false summit is the crux of the climb. I think I counted 1000 steps to get up it. It gives good views all round. I would definitely recommend it to a friend...or an enemy.

Last Minute
Duc and I had nothing to do so we went for a walk along the ridge to the summit of this peak. It was muddier than expected.

After work summit sauntering
Fun ridge! I like rolling trails, so this was nice. A bit too much scrub oak, though. I can't imagine how much of a treat THAT will be come summer!

Dale Peak
2/23/2014 From the Little Mountain Summit trailhead. From the trailhead I did Little Mountain first, and then onto Dale Peak, and all the way to Perkins Peak. I had to come back and do it again since I didn't get to Perkins last time. Fun hike.
2/2/2014 From the Little Mountain Summit trailhead. Fun snowshoe but a little slow going. Was planning on heading over to Perkins Peak but wouldn't have been back in time for the Superbowl. I will be back to do Perkins.

Post Holing and Bushwacking fun
Climbed this enroute to Perkins Peak. got a late start so the snow was in bad shape. left the trailhead around 3:00 and called for a ride on Foothill Drive around 10:30 fun ridge hike all the way except for bad snow and awful amounts of scrub oak

first time ...
as a ridge run from Little Mt trailhead to Pencil Peak and SL Valley (with Wasatch Mt Club).
Didn't start until 6:30 so I ran most of the way until it got too steep. Made it up in under an hour and returned (got dark on the way back). Didn't really care for the trail b/c it was mostly a jeep road...
Made it up again on the way to Perkins Peak on 10/2/10.

Hiked from Little Mountain Summit. Great snow on the way up. Very sloppy and hot on those south facing slopes on the way down.

Quick hike in the afternoon
Hiked this today because the avalanche danger was too high throughout the wasatch, so I played it safe with dale peak.

on the way to Perkins and back
used Vibram Five Fingers and ran as much of the ridge as i could; the bushwhacking slowed us down and it took 3 or 4 hours to do the 9 miles roundtrip.
we saw hunters too; when they asked if i'd seen any deer, i said no, but my wife is on the trail too, so don't shoot her. if i had seen a deer i would certainly not have told him so. glad to have been wearing bright colors.

Lotsa hunters
Looking for something that wasn't going to get rained on, I chose this for a conditioner and soon found that there were a lot of folks in orange with rifles on this mountain. I had orange on as well but no rifle, just my trekking poles. I enjoyed the hike and got off before the rain hit.
Update: I've since been up this one several more times. Once with Kadee, once with Victor Zhou and a couple times by myself. I still need to get Perkins peak.
