From McGraw Ranch  Sucess!

It might not be a big peak, but worth it for the simple fact that I didn't see another soul all day.

With The Needles  Sucess!

Head up and over The Needles and then over to Dark. Wanted to head up McGregor, put an injured Achilles started acting up so called it a day. Wonderful seclusion on a beautiful November day.

From McGraw Ranch  Sucess!

There was a significant amount of snow on the summit. Actually, I preferred having the snow on the ascent. It gave it an even more remote feeling.

South Slopes Route  Sucess!

Hiked the South Slopes Route from the Cow Creek Trailhead. The off-trail hiking was easier than expected - not many downed trees and the forest was generally not very dense. The summit consists of three separate high-points separated by less than 0.1 miles - the farthest (northwestern) summit is the tallest, perhaps by only 10 feet. A summit register existed at both the lowest (southeastern) summit as well as the highest summit.

from Black Canyon Trail  Sucess!

Nice hike; a bit steep, but not too tough.

From the Black Canyon Trail  Sucess!

If someone is looking for a summit far away from the crowds in Rocky Mountain National Park this one will fill the bill.
Total ascents = 2.

East ridge/SE shoulder  Sucess!

Some of the toughest snowshoing I've ever done. Crossed two gullies, some minor scrambling to gain the SE shoulder (left the main trail too early). The summit and plateau was deep wet snow making for slow movement. Ditched the shoes close to the summit and rock-hopped on exposed fins and logs. Long and physically exhaustive day. Great weather though!
