Wow, awesome page! Really enjoyed reading it. Lot of good humor thrown in. Nice photos, and very descriptive.
So do you think coming in from this side is still the best way to approach Sinister, Gunsight, and Agnes? Did you change your mind after sampling the local flora? :-)
Great pic of Agnes on CC.com too. Sure is a beauty!
It would depend on Spruce Creek, which junctions off of Agnes Creek not too far past the Swamp Creek confluence. Beckey implies only moderate difficulties. If so, the Agnes Creek approach would be best for these peaks. Getting across Agnes Creek would be a problem (it was downstream at Fivemile Camp, that's for sure).
Often the graininess has more to do with the quality of the prints (either from my original photographing talent or from the automated developing process). If I get prints back that are a little blurry I try to sharpen them. {Really blurry ones I don't even upload.} Sharpening them often makes them look grainy. An extreme example would be the original shots I uploaded to my Big Four page, which was my initial go at uploading <651 pixel-width images. Now those are grainy shots!
Strangely, in the case of the pics on the Dark Peak page, a lot of them turned out like digital photos--especially the signature photo. The sky is too perfectly uniform in color and the glacier/snow looks too clean.
But I do what I can. I never claim to be a Kenzo quality contributor (a KQC).

Untitled CommentExcellent and extremely informative (if a bit of a deterrent to actually go there).

Untitled CommentNow this would be what would seem to me, the good
"dark side". The force was definitely with you on this one Paul as this is an outstanding page. Well done.

Untitled Comment"(an aside: how exactly does one shed light?)"
My dictionary (Websters) says..."To give or send forth (light, influence, etc.).....anyway, not worth sheding tears over.
Very nice page, btw.

Untitled CommentNice page, darkly done!
(FWIW--the pictures on this page seem to be a bit over-sharpened....)

Untitled Commenthow exactly does one shed light?
The classic way would be to command: LET THERE BE LIGHT! and see it was fine...
The roundabout way would be to write an SP page.
I would settle for the latter...
Good pano shots!

Untitled CommentGreat page. Being a fellow Washingtonian, I have never heard of the Top 100 Peaks club. One more thing to put on the check list. Maybe.
