Re: Beautiful!

Many thanks for the comments Eric....I used to hate the desert but all it took was a visit to Zion National Park to change that old hate into a new love. Should you ever visit Utah you will definately have to check out ZNP. Happy Trails good friend.

Re: Primrose

I am not sure what type of flowers those are in the foreground. I have one flora book but its only about Alpine Flora. Should you ever find out exactly what type those flowers are please let me know. In the mean time happy trails Sarah and may your adventures never cease to be epic.

Re: Primrose

Hmmm...ok, my next thought was "Morning Glory..." What about Bindweed? (Unfortunately, a noxious invasive.) I'm stumped here! -Sarah

PS: Getting too old for Epic Adventures. :D

Re: Primrose

"You never get too old to climb...you get old from NOT climbing." As for the flower in the picture.....I am stumped as well. When you do find out what type it is please let me know. Happy Trails out there

Nice

Very nice capture....

That flower almost looks like the Datura flower genus...like Jimson Weed.

Can't wait to go to Zion sometime, it's on the list!

Re: Nice

If you have never been to Zion National Park you should definately check it out. Should you go there be sure to check out Observation Point, The Zion Narrows, Red Cave and The Subway......all these are places that have a unique beauty and they'll take your breath away. Happy Trails out there.

Nice Photo (as always)

I thought the flowers might be some kind of desert Lilly, but I couldn't be sure...

Re: Nice Photo (as always)

Its a damn shame...I wish I knew what type of flower this one is. I figure you saw this pic on the front page? Considering you saw this picture months ago I guess there is no surprizing you.
We haven't been getting any pictures of your adventures lately, you still getting out there Barry?

Re: Nice Photo (as always)

Yes, I saw the pic (again) on the front page. I definitely haven't been getting out enough, but I'm planning a big hike this weekend, and will bring my camera:-). Too damn hot down here; I need some snow!

Re: Datura

Thanks for finding out the name of the flower. All I knew about the plant is that it is poisinous to eat. In september these Datura were everywhere at Zion. Too bad we could never find any of the famous Golden Covilles Columbines while we were there. I hear they are beautiful. Happy Trails and thaks again for the name.

Re: Datura

Yep, Datura can be dangerous to consume indeed. It grows like crazy in Zion Canyon.
