Death Valley Classics

Seen from the summit of an unnamed peak near Leadville. The peaks about mid-distance here are Corkscrew Peak (left) and Thimble Peak (right). Telescope Peak, the highest peak in the park, is in the distance, as is the Death Valley salt pan. Although not visible in this picture, the Sierra crest was in sight as well. Had the dunes of Mesquite Flat been in the scene, the view from this peak would have been about as classic as a Death Valley view can get. Death Valeyy NP, CA-- April 2012
