Breathtaking

Who took this picture? Really striking composition, with the five different layers of lighting and distance from fore- to background, each formed by rock structures. The lighting looks almost as if it is multi-sourced, and then of course, the tiny climber in the middle ground, dwarfed by the scale of the environment, which is more hinted at than obvious. Really well-done.

Re: Breathtaking

Photo credits go to Rick Kent who was my climbing partner for that (26 hour) dayhike. This is just above the crux of the climb, with the summit not far off.

Re: awesome picture

YES! it took ages to traverse the ridge to finally reach the summit.

Devil's Crag probably has one of the fewest ascents per year, if not the least frequently visited in the Sierra.

Btw, I remember you asking me to recommend you some Sierra climbs...Stemwinder route on Thor peak is a classic!

Re: very. very cool

yes it is loose, full caution and concentration must be exercised, otherwise its a great climb with a bit of nerve wracking exposure
