3 Peak Traverse
Hiked out Summit Creek with the plan to visit Wilson Creek Peak and possibly more. From Wilson (Peak 10419) I went up and over Peak 10380 and decided to go for DBW since the newish trail to its saddle provided a perfect exit without repeating any summits. It's a great route if you're interested in tagging a couple 10K peaks along the way.
6:15 car to car
If you're interested in this peak and happen to be worried about the crux, I will point out that you can avoid it with moderate class3. I walked across the crux with my dog, then looked back and saw the other dog, who I haven't climbed with as much, wasn't into it. I walked back across the fin then dropped about 20 feet below the crux so he could follow me. It was only a minute or two of extra climbing. Chances are if you're visiting this peak you're the type of person who is going to love the crux, but I figured I'd put that info out there.

One for the Books
Straightforward, really nothing technical on the right fork approach and you get some great views. A little chilly today and the wind really picked up in the afternoon. All in all, good fun

NE Ridge 5.7 / 7p
Climbed the obvious steep ridge directly up from Kane Creek- some good moves, lots of air, some loose rock. Easy descent down valley to NW.

DBW
A very nice approach hike with a super fun scramble to finish! I found the last 20-30ft to be a little dicey, even for me. I dropped my pack, traversed to the summit, snapped a pic or 3 and made my way back to enjoy the view before the T-storms rolled in.
Climbed with Mike. Great day, long approach but the miles go by quickly. Fun route from Summit Creek, I would check out the Kane Creek approach maybe save a few miles.

West ridge up Summit Creek
Snowed the night before, so pretty dark and wet all day until the summit ridge. About 2" of melting snow made the final summit traverse a bit hair-raising, but what a great peak. Excellent, if stormy fall day in the Pioneer range. Can't imagine a 10-year-old girl on that traverse, but congrats Splattski (and daughter).

Unplanned Loop
Came in from Trail Creek Summit, but softening snow led us to head down the Wilson Creek drainage on the way out, followed by hitchhiking back to the car. Great summit views and a fun summit ridge. Here’s a trip-report and some photos.

Summit Creek to West Ridge
Wonderful climb. Great views of the peak from Trail Creek trail. Some snow on trail, but not much. A little more snow from the trail to the saddle on the west ridge. A little snow just added to the beauty of the climb and the surrounding peaks. A fun, exposed scramble at the top. I think we should petition to rename one of the Devils Bedsteads so there isn't an east and west.

Route Climbed: West Ridge Via Kane Creek Date Climbed: August 27th/05Absolutely gorgeous mountain with a fun little scramble at the top.
It was strange, however, thousands of mormon crickets covered the high saddle to the west of the peak, never quite seen anything like it before.
