A Pleasant Discovery
I never pass by it without climbing it, since I discovered how easy it is to do from Trail Crest. I've climbed it 17 times now.

On the way down
This was a short scramble from Trail Crest, but worth it because you get cool views of the 99 switchbacks, and of the terrain South of Whitney Pass.

Snow
Significant snow on the infamous 99 switchbacks. Packed snow until close to 13,000', then just the tracks of a couple out ahead of me. Snow was firm, and crampons were useful. What was funny was that all the snow from the last storm was gone except on the north facing slopes, and there it was abundant, which included the switchbacks up from Trail Camp.

Cold and Blustery
Something a little different. Having never been on Main Trail with so little snow, we opted to climb the snow slope over Trail Camp vice switchbacks. Then tagged Discovery with 30mph winds and rather cold. What a view! Great snow, great day.

Frosting on the cake
We hiked up the Meysan Lakes Trail and climbed a number of peaks in the area, we camped the 3rd night near Crabtree Lakes. The next day we went from Crabtree to the JMT and down the Whitney Trail. So we actually started in the morning at 11160' and climbed this in 4 hr and 26 min. before heading down to Whitney Portal.

This is a Peak?
Saw this little perch from Trail Crest after climbing Muir and decided to scramble up it. Not really a peak, I don't think. There's a 15' open book feature (with a crack in the center) on the west side that makes for a good challenge.
