One of my favorite playgrounds!
Forget how many times i've been here; one of my favorite areas in tahoe. Have rock climbed all over this peak and even the train trussle wall between tunnels off the North side near the bowl! Love it in the winter, have skiied into the bowl then snowshoed/skinned up to Judah then back to the parking area below the overlook lot multiple years. Someone left a nice kicker off the top of the center train tunnel roof drop-offs. Most air i've ever got followed by a drop down one of the gullies into the bowl. Awesome runs!!

NW Ridge
Hiked the NW Ridge with my dad after we found the crags to be too cold. This is a very fun hike and has an excellent view of Donner Lake.

Friends first REAL summit
I was using this and other Tahoe peaks as training for Orizaba when a friend asked to join me. We climbed Lincoln, Judah and Donner peaks that day. On the top of Donner his jaw dropped as he told me he had never been this high without a ski lift! Needless to say, another one is hooked!
I went on a rock climbing weekend trip with Cal Adventures (Berkeley). We spent two days rock climbing all around Donner Summit including School of Rock and some other areas I don't recall now. Was my first introduction to rock climbing and i've been hooked (and struggling for partners) ever since!)
Quick snowshoe outing with the GF. Encountered roughly 20 other people and about the same number of dogs enjoying the very warm temps. and good conditions. Didn't see any fresh tracks in what looked to be fine Sierra corn. :(

NW Ridge from ASI parking lot
Started from the old ASI parking lot (now SugarBowl Academy) and meandered up the NW ridge on snowshoes. Great views from Donner. I wanted a more direct line back to my Jeep with my snowboard so I crossed over to the N shoulder of Mt Judah and snowboarded back. Snow was great and there were lots of people on both mountains.
Route Climbed: Northwest Ridge Date Climbed: 12/27/2005
Climbed in bad weather and got dumped on constantly with rain, light snow, and high winds. Snowboarded backside back to railroad tracks for hike to car. Good trip and is some easier backcountry boarding...
Route Climbed: Standard- Mt. Judah Loop Date Climbed: 03-Oct-04
Fine October day. Some clouds and cool. The fall colors were just beginning to show. I did this peak in combo with Mt. Judah for an easy 2 hour hike. One of the easiest peaks I've done, but well worth the time and effort.
