Gorge Trail up / N Ridge down
My first visit to Maine. We were in Massachusetts for my wife's cousin's wedding and decided to vacation here afterwards. Got some hiking in and visited my wife's family on Toddy Pond. The Gorge Trail was wonderful. I went up Dorr Mtn as well. I didn't realize it, but you don't need a national parks pass for this hike, and you don't need to pay for Cadillac Road/Mtn parking. But the parking situation is pretty much a nightmare. We had planned to hike up the North Ridge Trail, but couldn't find parking, and were lucky to get a spot at the Gorge Trailhead.

The Ladder Trail
Direct route to the top with terrific summit views. Essentially a stair climb but enjoyable. Off to Cadillac next.

3rd peak of the day after hitting the Beehive and Champlain. We then went on to Cadillac and finished at Bubbles Pond where we let the bus take us back to our campsite.
Repeatedly. One of the great things about Acadia is the scale of the place -- it's easy enough to hike right across MDI's tops in a single day. Always a joy -- such lovely rock...

North Ridge Trail
I was so excited to be at the park that after I climbed Mount Champlain, I hiked up Dorr Mountain in the rain. No views of course.
Did Otter Cliff, Thunder Hole, Beehive, Champlain Mountain, Huguenot Head, Dorr Mountain and Cadillac Mountain from Blackwoods Campground and back. The march down Cadillac's southern ridge was the highlight of the day. Speechless.

Great Day
Went up Cadillac, down in the gorge, around to the Tarn, up Dorr and back down into the gorge and out.
Great way to spend a day - only takes about 8 hours to do the whole thing and once you're off Cadillac there is no one around.
Recommend Dorr over Cadillac if you have to pick just one.

NiceHiked up from Sieur de Monts visitor center. So many interconnecting paths in this park, even though it's kinda small. Nice day and decent views
