Nice Trail Run
Started at 5:00 a.m. at Muller Park trail-head. Ran in the dark to around the 3.5 mile mark at Elephant rock junction when it became light out. Continued to Rudy's flat and continued West up and down along the ridge to the summit of Dude Peak. Reached the summit around 7:15 a.m. and noted via GPS it was exactly 8 miles from the trail head. Ate some breakfast then ran back the same way. 16 miles total done in 3 hours and 58 min.
Trail is nice and shaded up till Rudy's flat, then the ridge line provides no shade. 3,587 feet gained in elevation. I made a map of the route on Google Earth. Feel free to message me for a copy of it.

Beautiful Day
Beautiful December day! Views were great both north and south and we also saw the sunrise on our way up from Ensign Peak. Long 12 mile day but worth it.

Dude!
started from SLC Public library on 400 South - so urban hike to/from Ensign Peak TH as well made it at least a dozen miles ... very spectacular views on this very windy day.

nice alternative route
We followed the Kern River Pipeline south of where it intersects North Canyon and then when it departs the ridge, we continued up the ridge to the top of the Dude. I was accompanied by my two brothers Eric & Guy. The last third of a mile was snow covered on fairly consolidated snow with the occasional post-hole surprise steps up to the top of one's leg.

Dude BM
Nice long ridge hike. Started at the Ensign Peak TH, did Ensign first and then on to Dude. From Dude I continued on to Rudy's Flat. I had thoughts of going all the way to Grandview but didn't have it in me today. All said and done almost 5000' of elevation gain and just shy of 15 miles RT.

Duuuuuuuuuude!
From City Creek Canyon with Craig Lloyd (Jun32) and Matt Williams. We had sun and blue skies and perfect weather for the end of November. The ridge is long and there are a lot of ups and downs, but this was a fantastic run with good friends and the views from Dude are 360 degrees of awesome.

Sunny February Day
In hindsight, snowshoes may have been a good idea for a February hike. Not too bad for the first three miles or so but the last couple of miles were pretty snow covered. Waist deep near the summit, thankfully some moose tracks helped break up the snow in places.
Great views and some deer. Cougar tracks too along the ridge.

Dude! Where's the mountain?
Started from the Ensign Peak trailhead. For this being such a "low" elevation peak it sure takes some walking effort to get to. Went with Imontop. It was great to get above all the nasty air from below. Great views of all the higher elevation peaks. This is an year round peak.

Holy crap Dude!
Hiked with Garfimi from Ensign TH. Very little snow, no wildlife, but good views from the top of the nasty inversion. Long 10 miles roundtrip with way too many ups and downs.

Dude Where's My Bike Tool?
Rode my bike from City Creek to Ensign. Ditched it behind some trees and made my way up to the summit in my cleats. I felt like a horse - clop clop. It took me longer than I thought but was easy and quiet. I lost my allen wrench tool - prob at the summit b/c I was working on my failing brakes the whole ride.
#2 - 4/5/17 rode bike from Tunnel Springs above the towers and hiked 2.2 miles in to the top.
Went up late April. Sun and Snow (weird mix)-- Fairly deep snow on upper trail, but didn't need snowshoes. Used the shortest approach from Lake Hollow Circle (it looks like they are building a park/trailhead there). Most of the hike was on an abandoned dirt road. About 1.5 hours up, 1.25 hours down. Had the trail to myself. Amazingly pretty veiws of surrounding mountains, Salt lake, and the city.

Hiked to Dude Peak from the west as a ridge hike from Ensign Peak trailhead. A fun one to do early or late in the season.
