Route Climbed: Main Trail Date Climbed: July 31, 1999
Pleasant day hike. Interesting little bit of scrambling near the top. Views to the South as always in Washington state marred by massive clear cutting... but nice distant views of Mount Adams. And great close-up spot to view Mt. Rainier.
Route Climbed: Eagle Peak Trail Date Climbed: September 14, 2003
After Pinnacle and Plummer Peaks, I still had half a day left so I headed to Eagle as it looked really cool from the road. Bombed up the trail as the sunny day got cloudy. By the time I reached the meadow, clouds were flying past overhead. Made the saddle and picked my way along the ridge finding the bypass gully and scrambled to the top. Got off route once and had some exposed 3rd or 4th class moves but not too bad. Not much in the way of views on the top but found a nice spot protected from the wind and had a snack. Back down and out of the park by about 5:30. Would be a really neat view from this one.
