East Face

A good look at the steep and crumbly east face of WCP-4 from the east ridge. The true summit is visible off to the right.

Wow Super Dave !!

What kind of freakin' rock is that, on the
east face of WCP-4???

Why would it be so crumbly? Is it volcanic?

It has some mighty fine texture - PLEASE keep
up your GREAT work on these photographs.

Re: Wow Super Dave !!

Thanks for the comments Larry. This type of rock isn’t uncommon in the White Clouds, especially in the northern part of the range. I'm far from a geologist, but from what I understand it’s a type of metamorphic limestone that is just a bit crystallized (kinda quartz like in places). Makes for very pretty sunsets since the rock is so reflective.
