"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

I did some leading :)Lower chunk: Scrambled up the 4th class P1. I led P2 & a short P4. Rapped from an existing anchor.
Upper chunk: Scrambled up a bit, then I led an easy pitch and my partner led a second easy pitch to the summit. Rapped from existing anchor.
Hiked up to Devils Thumb for a quick thrill afterwards.

chewing on some fatclimbed this flatiron w/mike. an enjoyable climb, but certainly not a top-10 route. the slabby parts on the lower piece were thinkers and lots of fun. don't know where the 5.4 route is? the right edge?

Second Trad LeadClimbed with Jamie. I led most of the route, and found it a bit run out in places, but tree slings came in handy! We both think we ended up too far left on P2 and into the 5.5/6 variation. Maybe didn't pitch this one out that well either, probably could have stopped P2 at a lower flake seeing as our P3 was only about 1/2 a rope. This was my second trad lead after leading The Forgotten Flatiron (aka Icarus) earlier that same day.
