NW Ridge
A fun and scenic scramble!

Full SE ridge
Started from the flat meadow just below the hut, scrambling up a gully and some brush to the ridge. A few tricky spots lower down, then fun, easier scrambling to the summit, with a great view of the Real Men's Spires. Starting a traverse to Northpost. Trip report.

raining day tic...
Cold and rainy day objective. Went all the way back to the hut and grabbed our gear and did McTech Arete as well...damn cold though.
Partner got sick and we aborted our Bugaboo Spire attempt. This made for a nice alternative plan.

NW Ridge
Took a rest day (4th day in the Bugs) after doing the NE Ridge of Bugaboo Spire. This was a nice scramble, and we continued cruising a ridgeline for a ways. Even with the add-ons, we were still back to camp early--another nice afternoon of reading in camp.

NW Ridge
Scrambled the NW Ridge route with Brenton Peterson. We then followed the Eastpost's ridge north over several other summits to get fine views of the Cobalt Lake peaks.

NW Ridge Route
Great scrambling, and absolutely fantastic views! Have to go back to the Bugs again
A nice scramble with some interesting downclimbing which was good practice for the bigger routes to come. Definitely some amazing views from up top.

NW ridge
A fantastic way to spend an afternoon when your resting from other objectives and staying at Applebee or the Kain hut. This route does save some excitement for the finale though!
Climbed Eastpost with a bunch of guys from Washington early in the summer of 2005 while I was working at the Kain Hut. The weather was a bit dreary, but stayed dry for us all day. A great scramble providing amazing views of the Bugs. And a summer I'll always remember!
"Climbed" the SE ridge. Was more of a scramble but we did a running belay most of the way. Pitched out one 40' section. Incredible views of the rest of the Bugaboos though.
but what a place to spend it! Enjoyed the scrambling on the lower bits but was a bit out of my comfort zone up high. I'm not a big fan of 4th class terrain.
