Went to this entertaining highpoint at the beginning of a trip. Seems that the true HP is next to the first trailer you come to on the right in the mobile home park.
Visited the one highpointers designated benchmark. It was a fun detour from the trip between friends in DC and friends in Philly. Doreen came out to visit with us.

Pretty easy. Wheelchair accessible. Drive thru highpoint. Summit sign can be read from where you park. The sheer lunacy of finding a bump in the middle of a neighborhood keeps it fun.

Highpoint #3
I didn't get an official picture of this highpoint, so I'd like to go back and do this one again, if I ever get a chance.

Not much of a high point but a point none the less. We parked about a quarter mile away in a development. If you look at the sign, the marker is to the left about 20 yards next to the side walk. We couldn't find the other markers supposedly in the area, but didn't look very hard either.

Wow... we visited during a armageddon-style downpour thanks to Tropical Storm Andrea. Needless to say, we got a couple pictures and then hightailed it back to the safety of the car. I had to explain to my bewildered 8 year old daughter that this was all part of the adventure. :-)

Milestone HP
Of course it's just a roadside stop, and relatively boring. But, it was a milestone STATE HP for us, as it is #20! It was the last of the weekend, which included WV, MD, PA, NJ, and DE. I know they will get tougher as we go west this summer, but still, 40% completed isn't that bad?!

No snow on the summit...
I was driving to Philadelphia for a friend's wedding, and decided that since I was only a few miles away, now was as good a time as any to summit Delaware. If snowed on the trip from Harrisburg to Philadelphia, so I was really hoping that it would keep up and I could get a picture of the high point sign with snow in the background... you know, snow capped peaks and all...
But alas, the snow stopped before I got there. This was my 13th high point, 6th within the last year, and first of 2013. My goal is to do at least 15 this year.

Actually, Florida's highpoint is the bottom. But I'm sure you already know this. LOL Just be mindful of the "thick air" at the lowest of the state high points.

Just Another Drive
This was my first attempt to do a high point by myself. It was raining when I got there. They have the sign and a bench to mark the high point. HP #4.

Successful highpoint!
For some reason it was difficult to find driving from PA in the evening and parking was also quite difficult to find. More trouble than I imagined for this highpoint!
This was the second time that my hiking and HP buddy, Mike, and I have visited Ebright Azimuth (first time was in 1994?). With the increase of technology (digital cameras, etc.), we basically decided to redo and document the 18 HP's we had already completed along the east coast. The disposable camera/photos just didn't cut it. What a better way to restart our HP odyssey with locating the HP of "The First State." Considering we're both Marylanders, the trip to the HP wasn't too difficult. A very nice overhaul to the HP area since 1994. Back then, I remember this area as just another "bump" in the road.

Fortunately, this one is only about an hour from my house. I don't think I have told anyone about this visit because not only wouldn't they understand, but they would think I am nuts! (like when I flew to Ohio and drove to a cornfield in Indiana)
