Quick hike with great views
Left fork is fastest way to the "summit" views, but right fork of the trail has more peekaboo views along the way. Por que no los dos?

Quick jaunt
This was the only summit of the day as I spent most of my time that day doing the nature trail near Indian Pond on the north shore of Yellowstone Lake. Good for the kids.

Pretty Up and Down
Did this on a perfect October day...not a single other hiker on the whole hill, great views and still had time to keep touring!

Nice trail
Spent a couple of days in the park but the Elephant Back Trail was the only one I hiked. I got to the top and saw someone using their cell phone so went back down and got my Internet tablet and went back up to update my Facebook account so my family knew that I was OK, as I had been out of touch for awhile with no cell service in the park. Also made a needed phone call to coordinate an upcoming climb of Eagle Peak.
Hiked this trail in the afternoon. Nice view of Yellowstone Lake. We did the clockwise loop.

Elephant Back Loop
Easy morning hike before it got too hot. Amazing views at the top.

Favorite
This seems to be a favorite hike for lots of Lake employees. With it's easy accessibility, and the spectaular view of Lake Yellowstone offered at the top, it's easy to understand why.

Easy
Easy hike with a nice although partially obscured view of Yellowstone Lake. Got pounded by a hailstorm upon reaching the summit.

First hike
This was the very first hike I ever did as a employee in Yellowstone National Park. Working at Lake Lodge for 3 summers, I have made the hike up Elephant Back more times than I can remember. Full moon night hikes are always fun on this mountain, or when you and your buddies are all drunk and decide Elephant Back is within walking distance of the pub, so, "why not?"

Elephant Back Trail
I did this hike several times after work each summer that I worked in the park. Great for full moons, sunrises, etc.

Route Climbed: Loop from Trailhead, Date: too many to count
When I worked in at Lake Yellowstone Hotel, I hiked/ran up this mountain too many times to count, early mornings, afternoons, evenings... A great one after work to put things into perspective.
