Elephant Tusk climb  Sucess!

This past weekend, I met up with some of my friends that I went to college with for a climb in Big Bend National Park. We chose Elephant Tusk. After living in Colorado for the past 6 months, the last thing I expected to see when going to the Chihuahuan desert was rain. On the morning we planned to hike, rain delayed our start, but nonetheless we gave it a shot. The weather held off, and we made the summit and returned to the trailhead at sunset.

Heres a link to some photos I took along the way.

How can I tell how great this was?  Sucess!

This was an amazing mountain. One of the best parts of my trip. Couldn't have done it without cjfbfd.

Route Climbed: Northeast Gap Date Climbed: November 25, 2005  Sucess!

Climbed this peak after an all night drive from Austin, summited with attm. Amazing hike, the southern Chisos are really beautiful. Had spectacular weather on the summit with great visibility and almost no wind.
