After Blanca
walked the Class 3 ridge from Blanca. very convenient. The views of the massif are amazing and rugged. Hung out on the summit hour and half just enjoying sunshine and others company. Great time!! Scrambled to the bottom of the basin to find the trail.

Lake Como via Blanca Peak
Meetup.com trip. We climbed Blanca first, then partly followed the ridge to Ellingwood Point. The leader brought his dog, so we had to drop down into the bowl and find and easier way up. There was no clearly marked trail, but we eventually made our way up the loose talus to the summit. Then we headed back to Lake Como, napped for a little bit before hiking the 6 miles back down the (expletive) Como Lake Road.

Ellingwood is only about an hour from the summit of Blanca, so you might as well bag it. It's easier and more solid than it looks. Camping at Lake Como is what CO is all about.
tagged this as an afterthought on the best classic 14er traverse in CO. at least it looks like a peak, unlike a lot of other bumps on ridges Tr here

Traverse from Blanca
After Gash Ridge and Blanca, I tried continuing down Ellingwood's North Ridge, but about 13,450 feet ran into 5th class choss down-climbing. Decided to return over Ellingwood's summit and made the long walk down Lake Como Road.

An unexpected route
Set out with hopes of doing the grand slam but had to skip Little Bear because of bad conditions in the hourglass. Good ridge climbing on the point though!

SW Ridge Fun!
This ridge surprised me and turned out to be more fun and exciting than I thought it would be. Lots of excellent class 3 scrambling. The rock was solid and I enjoyed my solitude away from the crowded standard route. Try this ridge if you like long sustained scrambling!

Blanca and Ellingwood
Great day. Loved cruising down the ridge proper from Blanca and taking in the great scrambling. Descended the West Ridge.

Blanca and Ellingwood
Backpacked up the road to Lake Como and the day was still very clear and calm, so I headed up to tag Blanca and Ellingwood. Made it back to camp as the sun was going down.

A really excellent route. Can find fun 4th and low 5th class stuff to stay directly on the ridge. Awesome views of Little Bear, Blanca, and the traverse.
