Enter the Mystic

"We were born before the wind ; Also younger than the sun ... Ere, the bonnie boat was won .. As we sailed into the mystic. Hark, now hear the sailors cry; Smell the sea and feel the sky ! Let your soul and spirit fly .. Into the mystic ..." Immediately following a sudden monsoon storm, Brian Head Peak (11,307') and The Highleap (9,009') show their prominence above the colorful depths of Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah. Good God Larry!

That's quite a tapestry of sedentary geo handy work!

Re: Good God Larry!

God? What about Buddah ?

In the past, I have received great criticism
for adding too much saturation to my images.

This one has NONE, including the NUN that
has since retired to the convent with
Father Oblivion.

Good Buddha Larry!

Looking at this shot in thumb nail size I thought I was looking at a flock of flamingos. But, this is a beautiful photo, as Windsor put it, a tapestry of geo handy work.

I skied at Brian Head some twenty years ago and never saw anything like this, probably because everything was buried under many feet of snow. Next time in the area I sure would like to find this area, Cedar Breaks NM.

Re: Good Buddha Larry!

It's relatively easy to find, Marc ..

One of those places that looks beautiful
during any time of the year!

I tried to weave a tapestry once, but
my hands got tired and a committee of Vultures
committed me to a life of Recreation.

Re: Good Buddha Larry!

Thank you, friends and neighbors.

I just keep throwing raw meat into the crowd,
and HOPE somebody devours it without claiming
to be a hardcore vegetarian.

Good song choice!

I absolutely love that tune by Van the man! Oh yeah, not too shabby of a pic either. Happy trails, Mark

Re: Good song choice!

Good song choice rules, especially on Reality TV.

Oh my Buddah ... I ran out of jokes!
Have a fun one out there, Mark.
Keep the Karma level going ..

Makes me want to find my old trip images.

Great song!
We experienced a late June snowstorm during our visit to Cedar Breaks two years ago. Brrrrrrrr! Freezing temps and wind chill made my hand hurt when I took photos, but I recall some great views and interesting shots. The kids enjoyed playing in the lingering winter/spring snowpack and splashing in puddles, while a few folks huddled around the fireplace in the little visitor center. A ranger was eager to talk to us, with nobody else braving the wind at the viewpoint. She really wanted to discuss the Bristlecone Pines there, but I explained that we've checked out the older ones in the White Mountains several times.
Hmmm...maybe my memories are more important than my old photos. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Re: Makes me want to find my old trip images.

Aaa- hemmm ... thanks for the memories !

There's nothing WRONG with old trips.
Old trips are just new trips waiting to be planned ... and ... what a long, STRANGE trip
it's been.

Watch out for those Rangers! Most seasonal
Rangers I've met our extremely lonely, and
you DON'T want to turn your back on a LONELY
RANGER !!!
