Mummy Mania Peak 4
Peak number 4 of our Mummy Mania route. Coming from Ypsilon with the sun rising, me and my buddy Ben Kiser were able to take off the headlamps and begin the talus descent down to the saddle below. Finally started to warm up with the sun, and the climb up to Fairchild was a beast. Very intimidating from the bottom, but we whittled our way to the top. On to the rest...

Mummy Kill Peak 4
Fairchild was definitely the second hardest of the Mummy Kill peaks. The talus down from Ypsilon slows you down. Fortunately, the rock on the southern face of Fairchild is much better. We scrambled up through the two ribs on the western part of the south face. We then hiked east up the ridge to the summit. Beautiful 360 degree views!

Peak 1 of 6 under gray % mostly rainy weather. Hiked in from Cow Creek (9 miles), camped at Lawn Lake and exited via the "Dunraven Ridge" to North Fork Trail (GOD AWFUL BUSHWHACK) and North Boundary Trail back to Cow Creek. All the rain made it a long and tiring day.

via Lawn Lake
Ron and I set up camp at Lawn Lake and then proceeded to summit Fairchild Mountain. The weather continued to be dry and beautiful all afternoon and evening for our climb. Unusually warm night at the 11,000' lake. Woke up to 55F temperatures.

Mummy Masochism
Peak 4 of 8, did a variation of "Mummy Mania" we dubbed "Mummy Masochism" because we tacked 2 bushwhack 11ers on to the end. Appx 19 miles, 7000 vertical - climbed Chapin, Chiquita, Ypsilon, Fairchild, Hagues, Mummy, Tileston and Bighorn. This was my 200th unique ranked 13er in Colorado.

From Yspilon, went down then climbed straight up it. Pretty exhausting but opted for this instead of the ridge for some reason.

Mummy - Hagues - Fairchild
Hiked all three peaks in a day after a camp at the Lawn Lake backcountry campsite. I was surprised at how broad and flat the summit of Fairchild was. It was a nice place to hang out before the threatening clouds moved in. The Crystal Lakes provided a nice side trip on the way back to camp.

From the Saddle
Camped at Lawn Lake and hiked up via the Saddle. Still a couple of snow fields on the northeast slopes. Cool and windy at the summit. Returned via the northeast slope route as described by Lisa Foster. Made a side trip to the lovely Crystal Lakes on the way back to camp.

From Lawn Lake TH9/18/11 - Attemped as part of Mummy Mania but turned back on Chiquita due to winter-like wind.
9/19/11 - Fairchild, Hagues & Mummy from Lawn Lake. 21 miles, 7000 feet but it went quickly because of the good trail. Just under 10 hours RT.
