Climbed Father Dyer via the NE Ridge and traversed over to Crystal Peak. Nice exposed ridge, nice distinct and dramatic summit and spectacular views all around!

east ridge scramble and traverse to crystal
Great ridge scramble! Very imposing south face on Father Dyer. Traverse to Crystal was pretty uninspiring though.

Via Crystal Peak Ridge
Enjoyed the hike over to Father Dyer from Crystal Peak. Weather was beginning to turn sour, however, so we bailed down a green but steep-as-all-git-out slope on the north side of the ridge between Fr. D and Mt. Helen. This was NOT anyone's favorite part of the trip (not on aging knees, at least). I especially love how Father Dyer sits out on his lonesome. Partners: Carol & Deb.

NE Ridge then on to Crystal
With Eric Holle. Plowed through a bit of snow to get those telemark legs ready for winter. NE ridge is much fun. FD Peak has a beautiful E face! Then on to Crystal Pk.
Traversed the ridge from Mt Helen. Ended up being far more committing than I expected, but mainly because I attempted to stay along the ridgeline proper rather than routefinding around obstacles. Ended up making one extremely thought-provoking downclimb along the way.
Climbed with gurlyclimber. We ascended the east ridge on Father Dyer Peak and then traversed the class 3 ridge over to Mt Helen and down. Some nice fun scrambling on mostly solid rock. The ridge traverse reminded me of a sort of mini-Ellingwood Ridge (LaPlata), a nice route!
The ridge from Helen to Father Dyer rank as one of my favorites (gives Pacific's class III ridge a run for it's money!)on a 13er. It is as easy as class III or as hard as you want to make it (tower avoiding or climbing). I'll be back for the direct Father Dyer class III route!

Route Climbed: Crystal Peak East Ridge
Did the Helen, Father Dyer, Crystal Peak combination. The ridge in between Helen & Father Dyer was extreme fun. Very rugged & exposed.

What an awesome climb. One of my favorite in the Ten Mile/Mosquito Range. Excellent Class 3 scrambling on solid rock for nearly 1000 ft to the summit. From there I continued on to Crystal, Peak 10 and Peak 9 before returning to the Spruce Creek TH via the Wheeler Trail.

Memorial Day-A rare solo rip for me, especially on skis. Climbed in the mist shooting for Crystal but surmounted only Father Dyer but had an "experience."
I wrote a blasphemous Trip Report here:
