southwest ridge
I hiked this one with Steven Stembridge. We came in from the southwest via the Bitter Springs Backcountry Byway. Also climbed a peak 1.6 miles north-northwest of this that had a summit logbook located in a register can on top with an unofficial name of "Sandy Hook" Peak.

Big Loop
Summited from the east then dropped to the south and traversed over to a large peak I dubbed 'The Raven'. Dropped into a fun canyon below 'The Raven' and explored our way out. Several interesting drops in there.

Class 2 route!
Using Day Hiker's and goofball's info, I picked a route that was class 2 (well, some tougher stuff for catclaw avoidance). Here's the trip.

east side canyon approach
after moving to vegas i began wandering lake mead and saw this canyon near echo bay off the northshore road. after hiking up it past the first narrows i came home, saw the peak labeled on the topo, and thought the summit views would be outstanding. so me n mike went on a mercifully cool(ish) august day to gain the peak.
yep, outstanding views !

From Northshore Road
With goofball. Great scrambling up dryfalls in the lower canyon. I chose to wear a helmet because that's how I roll.
We did this one in late August, but I would highly recommend not going between mid April and mid October, unless you get lucky with the weather and have a cool day like we had.
