Nice off trail hike. NF 870 is brushy and toward the end has some high clearance spots. Saw a nice young buck partway up.
I did this backward as Dennis, did Castle first, then Fish. Not much of a view, a few interesting rock formations along the way though.
Easy morning hike up the south ridge to Fish Mountain. Later climbed Castle Rock and Rabbit Ears.
