"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Untitled CommentThanks for adding this--I doubt I'd have ever gone out there if I hadn't seen your page and had my curiosity piqued, but it was worth a visit. Good route description, too.
BTW, apart from keeping left to avoid the initial cliffs just past the saddle, I pretty much followed the crest with only very minor variations the rest of the way--good approach shoes were helpful for friction on a couple of moves, but I thought the ridge stayed no more than 3rd class the whole way. I didn't find it necessary to drop down to the right.

Untitled CommentYeah, the day I did it I had my wife along, so we played it safe. Glad it was fun!

Untitled CommentFYI --- I edited the route description to reflect your rating of the crest. I was basically taking a guess at it, but some of the moves that I could see before leaving the crest looked like 4th+ to me. Thanks for the info!

Untitled CommentWhile Matthew says he wouldn't have climbed the peak if he hadn't noticed your mountain page, I wouldn't have noticed the mountain page if Matthew hadn't climbed it.
Nice work!

Untitled CommentHa! That's funny, my friend. Should I be looking for plaques on certain peaks saying "Matthew was here"? You know, Kilroy-style?

Untitled CommentYes, and they'll all be dated 2004. He did 114 SP peaks this year, and probably about 30 other non-SP ones. He's already passed my lifetime total of SPS peaks. That boy was busy...
