Fletcher Scramble
I summited this peak from North Loop, Hamingbird Hollow and Fletcher Canyon.
From the Fletcher Canyon, scramble up 2,200 ft steep slope in 1 mile. Its all class 2 but very steep.

Hiked with Mommy and Daddy. Daddy carried me, as usual, because I am only 11 months old. We got to see the magnificent Raintree also!

North Loop Trailhead
Hiked with my wife and carried DayHikerJr (age 11 months) from the North Loop trailhead. Fletcher's summit register is on the northwest (first) summit, but we made sure we tagged the southeast one also. On the way down, we went to say hello to the Raintree. Total distance: 7.4 miles, with 2400 feet of elevation gain.

sun and snow
First time was in July 2002; Snowshoe in deep powder in Feb 2004; then a trip from Hummingbird Canyon August 8, 2007. The Hummingbird route makes this peak a little bit more challenging (especially if you are wearing shorts and find the stinging nettles).

From the North Loop trailhead
Easy snowshoe in winter among many pretty bristlecone pines. A nice hike to take your dog along. Here are some photos from 2006: Fletcher Peak hike
I've done this peak also via Hummingbird Hollow, which is a nice summer route, but I haven't seen any hummingbirds there ;)

fun outing
I bushwhacked up directly from the road with my wife and came back on the North Loop Trail.

Via the North Loop Trail
I did this one along with a couple of friends and my dog. It was a little warm today especially at the section that cuts off cross country from the North Loop Trail. Fortunatly there were still patches of snow here and there...so a little snow under my ball cap melting on top of my head was really refreshing.

Hiked with my wife and dog via the north loop trail. Nice afternoon clouds kept things a little cooler. Plan to head back in the winter.

Fletcher
I hiked up the North Loop Trail. Right before the Bristlecomb Pine by the turn off to Mummy Springs I turned South to the Saddle of Fletcher (dips down about 150-200 feet), then hiked up to the top of Fletcher Peak. It took me just over 5 hours round trip. I stopped and ate a few times, visited with hikers, and enjoyed the views. GREAT VIEWS from Fletcher. I was the only one up there.

Can't believe I'm only the 2nd person to sign this log. This is an easy walkup from the North Loop Trail. Check out the bristlecone pines along the way. Also some very nice views.
