From Franklin Lakes
Pleasant hike from Franklin Pass with my nephew. Took a class 3 move or two near the top on the way up because we missed a left turn along the class 2 standard route. Beautiful summit.

Wow!
An invigorating day among the winds, clouds, and rocks! Class 3 NE ridge up and class 2 NE slope down. Conditions made for a wild time!

South Ridge
Accessed the south ridge from Upper Bullfrog Lake and followed it to the summit area. Traversed to the west ridge near the top and then up to the summit. (Class 3)

From Franklin Pass
A suprisingly fun, short class 2 scramble up from the pass.
Slogged through quite a bit of (deep) snow to get to the top, but we did it! Beautiful day... oddly it was considerably windier at Franklin Pass than it was at the summit. Yet another excellent experience in the Great Western Divide.

West Side/Ridge
With Duane day tripped 1000-2100 from Mineral King, contoured from Farewell Gap, followed ridge over sub Peak 12,146, down to Bullfrog Lakes and out. Great hike and view!

From Vandever
Part of a counter-clockwise tour of most of the Mineral King area peaks. Hideous talus pile. Also summited the peak in between, whose name I forget. Trip report

Quick Day Trip
Crushed Florence on a quick solo day trip to Mineral King. The deer up there are just about domestic, absolutely no fear of people.
Part of a dayhike starting from Mineral King that included Vandever Mountain. The climb up from Bullfrog Lakes is really sandy in between the large boulders. Descended down to Franklin Pass and back to MK.

Franklin Pass
Climbed from camp at 9450' in Farewell Valley. Intermittent snow led to Franklin Lakes, then almost solid snow to the summit. Skied from a little below the summit. Beautiful views to the Whitney group and Kaweahs.

1974 Climb
Climbed with Susan Stubblefield (wife #1) while on a backpack loop through Mineral King area (back when Walt Disney was still trying to turn MK into a ski resort!). Also climbed Mt. Florence in Yosemite in July, 1971 while working at Merced Lake HSC...(that peak appears to have no section on this site!)

SW slopes
Came up from camp at upper Bullfrog Lake. Lots of sand to slog up, but just enough scrambling to make it worthwhile. Great views in the morning.

The final stop on a Sawtooth-Needham-Rainbow-Florence dayhike out of Mineral King. (Traversed from Needham to Rainbow via Needham's SW Slope, Lakes 10,479 and 10,569, and up Rainbow's SE Slopes--a nice hike with easy solid granite ledges/boulders on the way up to Rainbow). Hazy views due to the ever present cloud cover that day.
The SW Slopes had some nice scrambling, with a bit of third class in places.
