I've climbed this a couple times. I was standing at the summit in a light fog as the sun peaked over at my feet as I looked down towards Snow Lake. A rainbow circle appeared where I was looking with my shadow in the middle of it. That was the most surreal moment of my life, and just adds to the multiple wonders that The Tatoosh Mountain Range has brought to my life.

Traversed from Unicorn. Beautiful, had the place to ourselves.

Consolation Prize
On a planned trip to Unicorn, Boundary, and Stevens after seeing the scree hell I'd have to climb up to get to Unicorn I said no thanks an headed west instead. Foss was my only true summit as rain derailed my Castle attempt 20 feet from the summit and 11 Pacific Lutheran U climbers clogged the route to Pinnacle. Not a bad summit though, good views of course!

Completed a summit of The Castle and then went over to get Foss Peak since I was up there. Good use trail coming down from The Castle side to the small pond however the trail sort of goes cold from there. No worries, you can pick your way up the rocks and meadows easily enough.

Foss Peak in Snow
Hiked Snow Lake Trail, up the scree field to the saddle between Unicorn and Foss Peak, walked the ridge line (as best I could) to Foss Peak, continued on toward The Castle, and down-climbed the scree field back to the trail head. The climb down took more time than the climb up!
There was a nice bit of snow in the shadows and a good trickle of melt running through the chutes. What a hike / climb!

Foss Peak
Hiked up to the Plummer-Pinnacle Saddle, traversed south of Pinnacle and the hidden ramp on Castle. Then on along the ridge and up the western slopes of Foss. Beautiful day out there.

Great climb with Becky on a beautiful, sunny day. Great big, fat marmot on the summit apparently doing zazen. He seemed to faintly disapprove of us... Nice views of Paradise not visible from elsewhere on the ridge or in the Unicorn Peak/Boundary Peak basin.
