Traverse
Me and my girlfriend Åsa climbed Galdhøpiggen from the Jyvvas hytta across the Styggebraen-glacier. Our descent was via the Spiterstulen-route. We were the first party on the glacier at around 08:00 hrs. Later during the day huge parties of 30-40 people crossed the Styggebraen. (Guided groups from Jyvvas hytta). No early alpine starts over here....

Route climbed: from Spiterstulen in changing weather
A nice climb from Spiterstulen. We started the day around 7 AM in nice, sunny weather, which unfortunately went from bad to worse on the way up. By the time we reached the top, we had strong winds, the rain was a mix of water and sleet, and it was hard to stand up. The weather continued to get worse when we descended from the mountain, and a lot of groups decided to turn back, so we had made it just in-time.
According to discussion inside the summit hut, the previous night had been the prettiest on the mountain that whole year - just our luck!
The climb took us around 7 hours, including some rest at the summit hut.
Route climbed from Spiterstulen during a 12 day hike in Jotunheimen.

Spiterstulen route
Nice and sunny day. Florence and I started at 9h00am from the parking, we reached summit at 13h30. As it was packed, we ate with pleasure some "sardines". After coffee and chocolate we did some pictures and headed down, enjoying "bottom ski" when possible. We reached the parking at 17h45. We refreshed our feet in the glacial river before heading to a deserved shower and dinner in Lom. Beautiful climb and successful iniatiation for Florence.
Warm and sunny day. Early start in Spiterstulen. 3,5 h to the summit. Back in Spiterstulen at 2:30pm.
Nice area.
Soft and deep snow at the afternoon are difficult for hikers with late start.
Bringing along our children of 6 and 8 years we took the guided tour. When crossing the glacier they tied us all, maybe 30 persons, to the same very long rope! We didn't see any crevasses though. The snow was quite deep, and the weather was cold, overcast, and foggy with absolutely no view from the summit! Very disappointing.

Hiked from Spiterstulen in fairly cloudy weather with poor/no visibility at the summit. Despite this, it seemed half of Norway must have been up there.
Climbed from Spitenstulen. Fantastic weather. Cloud hung in the valley all day making for some great vistas. Had the mountain all to myself as well.

from Spiterstulen
Was a perfect day for climbing, probably one of the best possible. First snow slopes appeared at about 1600 metres, but the sunny day guaranteed warm weather until the very summit. Well, almost, it was 10+ C on top. Guess I don't have to mention about the views from the summit. The hut was closed for some unknown reason.
