Foggy
Hiked Giant Mountain 4627' via the Ridge trail route. Moderately easy hike due to its proximity to the parking area. The weather was overcast with light rain here and there and low visibility on the summit. Proceeded to Rocky Peak Ridge by decending from the summit of Giant down a very steep trail.

Wet Summit
Wet week in the ADK's but this was a nice hike for the weather. In a cloud on top, but the clouds opened up on the way down for some great views and great skies.

Frozen Ascent
Beautiful day hike from rt.73 by St. Huberts to the summit of Giant Mountain. The trail was mostly ice with slight snow cover which made for a fun descent on our backsides! Great view west from the top, and several others on the trail along the route.

Giant and Rocky Peak Ridge
Laurence and I left Montreal at 8 o'clock, after deciding to go buy some micro spikes at the Mountaineer in Keene. (It was worth it, especially for RPR). We made it to the summit of Giant by the Zander Scott trail. We had the fortunate surprise of meeting our friend Genevieve lounging on the summit with 2 friends. They wanted to do Hopkins Mt, but we were set on doing RPR. We parted ways after un small lunch. The descend to the col between Giant and RPR was icy, microspikes helped a lot. We were back at the car around 6 PM. Sunny skies all day.

Climb with dog
Beautiful day for a hike with my two friends and their dog, who did amazingly well climbing up a mountain for his first time! Took the Zander Scott trail from 73 which took about 5 hours roundtrip. Wonderful views from the top and other exposed areas.

I was hoping for a better view towards Lake Champlain. Trees blocked most of the East facing view. However the view in towards the high peaks was pretty nice. This was a pretty short hike from the road as far as the Adirondacks go.

Busy and Beautiful Day
Finally hiked up Giant today. The day was perfect too. Lots of people there, but friendly and spaced out along the trails. Did Rocky Peak Ridge also. Much quieter over there, so I snuck in a little shut eye and enjoyed the breeze for a little while.

Well back at it.This was the first climb of the year for me.A difficult traverse from rt 73 over Giant and Rocky Peak Ridge onward to rt 9n in sub zero windy conditions with almost zero visibility from blasting snow.Just the way I like it...Jim W
