Earth invaded by giant spiny creature?? Relax. Only a Spiny Oak caterpillar (Euclea delphini) on a metal fence post knob. This guy, or gal, later morphs into an Io Moth. Spines are poisonous to the touch. Olympus E-30 and Sigma 105mm lens.
