"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Untitled CommentJust to let you know, I have recently adopted this mountain page, and added several routes and photos, as well as a number of cosmetic changes which I hope have improved the page.
When you have a minute, could you please revisit the page and then consider revising your vote?
Thanks!

Untitled CommentArrg! You beat me again! I had marked this peak page on me to do list before winter break started. Oh well, I still ahve 2 more unclaimed peaks to do -I'd better get busy.
The page could definitely use fmore info (e.g. trail descriptions, links, photos). Otherwise, I'd give it a 4 star rating.
P.S. I don't have your e-mail address w/ me here at Berkeley, could you send me an e-mail? That way I can send you pics from our trips!

Where Did Gobblers Knob Get Its Name?I read a bit of folklore in the Daily Herald that states:
"One story suggests that the miners kept a flock of noisy turkeys [near the Baker Spring/Mine], leading to the name of Gobblers Knob for the nearby peak."
Cool story. I emailed the author, who stated it was simply a story that he and other locals had heard, so no way to verify it. All the better. :)
