Re: :/

Thanks, Deb. Well, I certainly miss the hysterics from those threads, and not just from her! To be fair, though, I always thought she was nice and won't say anything bad beyond saying that that whole fiasco plain mystified me.

Hey, at least you and Dave know where to reach other!

Butterfly is gone! I liked her pictures, especially the aerial ones.

Online now

I sometimes log out because that red "online now" label gets embarrassing. But I'm still here.

Re: Online now

And now I'm busted, too. Perhaps I'll add your comment to the list!

That's me

bugger you've got me, I can't believe how much of that is true!

Nice one Bob!

Re: That's me

Thank you, Dan. Yeah, i was getting a few laughs while writing this until I realized that so many things were based on what I actually do. Maybe this should be the next front-page poll and we can see which members really do have this addiction the worst!

true

Its funny because its true. My wife was once mildly interested in SP. Even has a profile. But I have learned to lay low at home with SP these days. Work has suffered a bit. All other productive personal aspects of my life have taken a hit. We need some sort of support group.

Re: true

My wife would beg to differ. She sometimes jokes about starting a support group for SP wives. At least I think she's joking.

Summitpost isn't...

on my favorites list. It's my home page! When I was recently approached by a local bank to work part-time as an agriculture lender I agreed. (I was already spending 1-4 hours a day looking at Summitpost. I figured I could spend 4 hours a day looking at financial sheets and get paid. Now I spend less time on SP, but am earning enough money to pay for my climbing trips. I just get up earlier to read SP.) Funny stuff Bob. I am guilty of taking a quick look while company is over. Mel Torino lives!!

Re: Summitpost isn't...

I'm not sure I should be talking to you considering you're a Packers fan and I like the Cowboys, but I suppose I can show a little sportsmanship. So I see another person has discovered the purpose of work-- to pay for trips to the mountains. I bet we're not the only ones here.

Thanks for reading.

Ok, a few more...

• You don't have SP in your favorites because it's always in your address bar history and you can type summitpost.org in milliseconds anyway.
• You’ve climbed a mountain just to to be able to get it on SP
• You know what an Ivano Ghirardini route description looks like, or even what the "Chamonix Mafia" is...

Re: Ok, a few more...

Thanks-- when I get some time tomorrow, I'll make a section with yours and others' additions. I especially like the second one. I know I'm guilty of it.

Well, I had to do something to get people to read on to the drivel after it!

You must be trying to break the addiction...

The last 4 comments over a 5 hour span are still unanswered.

Hilariously accurate Bob. Guilty as charged on all except 2 counts - and I'm not saying which.

Thanks for brightening a rainy Saturday morning.

Ps who's Mel Torino?

Re: You must be trying to break the addiction...

Well, I was at the in-laws' most of the day and didn't dare sneak off to look for a computer. It seems I have found at least one thing more powerful than SP.

I'll search for the Mel threads and PM you the links. They were hilarious.

Re: You forgot..

I'll soon add a section with people's additions, Fred.

I'll be in MT in July, actually from 6/30-7/21, the first half of it with my wife. I'll be at Mike's from the 11th through the 15th, which includes a weekend, so hopefully you and Tim and Vernon and some others can get out with us. After that, I'll be heading to the Gallatins before turning back to Great Falls and flying home.

humor acheived

bob...your "attempt" at humor was wildly successful...i was both laughing and cringing at the same time...didn't realize that I had such a problem...i suppose, like many things, admitting it is the first step...so...i admit it...you hit it on the head...i'm curious though...how long were you away from SP to pen your accurate prose??...shame on you for leaving us for even a moment :)

Re: humor achieved

Thank you, John. I actually wrote this back in May or June (added a couple things before posting), but I wavered for a long time because I wondered if a lot of people would just think it was stupid. I'm glad to see that it's gotten some good feedback.

By the way, I haven't forgotten about our tentative plans for SNP, but I just haven't had the time to get out lately. I might sneal out tomorrow or Wednesday, the days that right now look the best of the week. I recently adopted the pages for Old Rag, Neighbor Mountain, and Knob Mountain, so I'd like to get some new shots to add to the pages. Tomorrow's unlikely since relatives will be over later in the day, but maybe Wednesday. How much advance notive do you need? And do you have any preferences among, or even interest in, those mountains? I would do Knob and Neighbor together, by the way.

Re: humor achieved

Certainly interested in Knob and Neighbor (sounds a bit "kinky" , not that there's anything wrong with that!! but I just don't roll that way :)....would you be accessing via jeremy's run and AT? 12/26 or 12/27 would be my only options this week....let me know and have a great Christmas.
