Sunrise photograph captured from Punta Rossa in the Gran Paradiso National Park, Italy. At 3,600m above sea level the view from this peak is incredible. It is possible to see all the grand 4,000ers in the Alps. I slept in the crowded Pousset Bivouac the night before and then hiked up to the summit in the pre dawn darkness for an hour. The wind was so strong on the summit that I thought I would be blown to my certain death. Luckilly I clung on and managed to get a few shake free shots.
