Hermit Trail
To the rapids, very hot but very beutiful. To go between Hermit Creek Camp and Hermit Rapids I recommend stay in Hermit Creek instead of the trail, shorter and cooler.

North to South is an incredible run
We traditionally run from North Rim to South Rim on Friday and then do Havasupai on Saturday---makes for an incredible weekend. Makes for a sore Sunday and Monday!

my favorite place in the world
Bright Angel trail to Phantom Ranch, then floated river to takeout at Pearce Ferry (Lake Mead). I've spent much time on the North Rim; if pressed I'd have to rank this as my favorite place. I've visited once or twice a year for 20+ years.

It's like an inverse peak so it belongs here. Running across this amazing feature was the best run of my life, I really didnt want it to end, even after 40 + miles. 11 hours; Tr here: http://zoomloco.xanga.com/734677318/no-trophy-no-flowers-no-flashbulbs-no-line/

When Nixon was President
2 friends and I hiked down to Indian Gardens, spent the night then hiked to the river and back out the next day. I remember playing my harmonica along the trail and being blown away by the sound echoing off the canyon walls.

Rim to Rim
Down South Kaibab to the Colorado and up Bright Angel. Nice, strenuous dayhike. However, wasn't overly impressed with the Grand Canyon itself- slot canyons are way more fun and pretty.

Been here twice so far, I'm sure I'll be back for more challenge some day! Best part of the first trip was the BIG bald eagle who flew right above my head as I was sitting to rest on a ledge. Unfortunately, too slow to get my camera out to catch it close-up!... Should go back to photograph these amazing big birds!

The Big Ditch
Hiked down to tanner beach and then day hiked to mouth of the little Colorado and back. Longest 20 miles of my life! Very hot in that region but little c is a great place to spend a day. Also have hiked to plateau point several times. I am addicted. Always thinking about returning.

Did the North Kaibab trail down to the river and back up at night. One hell of a day hike with my brother. I loved it so much that i must go back soon! It was 106 degrees at the river, but the water was FREEZING! Such a nice refreshing dip it was.

I came through on the Arizona Trail (Rim to rim- North Kaibab to Bright Angel). What a beautiful place to behold. I'd definitely come back. Amazing to see the sunrise and sunset on the Grand Canyon in one day. :)
