I didn't hike the rim trails, but I spent 28 days rafting through the canyon. It was an unforgettable month and a trip of a lifetime. In 2005 I spent three days hiking above and below Havasupai Falls.

South Rim
Spent 3 days exploring the canyon. February is a great time to go, no crowds. Can get a little chilly but the light sprinkling of snow on the rocks in the early morning is breathtaking.

Rim to Rim
Our third time below the rim, but our first R2R. Hiked down the North Kaibab, stayed at Phantom Ranch 2 nights, hiked out via the Bright Angel. First day was near 110 degrees F...record high for the day, but then a front moved through and brought the best temps we have ever experienced in the canyon! Perfect! My new favorite hike! A R2R2R though the fires of hell!
A 51 mile Rim to Rim to Rim with Michael(smudge), Chris(miztflip), Eric(thebeave7), Charles(CharlesD), Kari, and Joy. Unbelievably hot (110-ish) day made conditions less than ideal.
Can't wait to get back this fall (Oct/Nov) for a shot at a sub-12 hour double crossing!

Rim 2 Rim 2 Rim
Did the one day full 50 miles, starting at the Bright Angel TH, down S Kaibab, to N Kaibab, back up Bright Angel. Temps were atrocious, probably the hottest day of the year, and near record temps. Midday peaked at over 110 in the Box and around Phantom Ranch. The heat hit us all pretty hard, making the return trip slow, very very slow. Hiked with Chris, CharlesD, Chris F(Mitzflip), Michael(Smudge), and Kari. Definitely would not do that again under those temps.
South Rim to Phantom Ranch. We stayed at the Bright Angel Campground. Great four day trip. You have to love a hike that you can get a cold beer at the end of the trail

Over the Edge Veg
Went out with a vegitation crew from the grand canyon trust and cleaned out tamarisk with a group of friends over 5 days, absolutely awesome! went down south bass trail to copper canyon, got the opportunity to explore copper canyon from top to bottom, cant wait to go back again someday
Hiked to the river and back up with my parents and brothers. We took turns supporting our parents up the last few miles as their knees were shot, the sun was going down, and there was still patchy snow on the ground. Good bonding experience and a fun hike.

Down Bright Angel, Up Kaibab
There was fresh snow on the trail going down, and of course the rangers said crampons were necessary, but not having any, I went ahead and did it anyway, with no problem. Just over 6 hours roundtrip. A great hike, fabulous views.

South Kaibab to Bright Angel
Wow, this hike was amazing. Decsended the South Kaibab, and the colors were something else. Camped at Phantom Ranch and came back up Bright Angel the next day. Coming up was grueling. I can't beleive my dad made it. Hats off to him. Its a must-do hike.
Hike from the North rim to the river and back 30(?) miles and the last 5 are the steapest. It was nice soaking my feet in the ice cold river. Nice to be able to buy a cold drink and make a call from Phantom Ranch.

best time to go. I worked on the South Rim for 9-1/2 months.
