Great weather window this morning. Combined with: "West Turkshead Peak," The Sultan, "Spencer Peak" and one I've been wanting for a good long while, Turkshead Peak.
Climbed along with Sultan. Excellent summit views in all directions. Morning sunshine made for a great hike.

From Little Molas Lake
With Ryan Draft. via W Turkshead and Spencer. On to Sultan. Dropped off Sultan's NE shoulder [one tricky notch to negotiate] to Rt 550 close to Silverton, where passing motorists were definitely not interested in giving us a lift up the road. Heavy early afternoon rain made the prospect of walking 7 mi up the road somewhat unattractive. Hmm. We ended up going into to Silverton and *paying* someone to drive us up to Molas pass. Still, a nice set of ridges.

Baggin
Started this hike around 11:30am. After not understanding the approach beta i just schwacked through willows after two or three switch backs on the Colorado Trail from Little Molas Lake. There was a route..ish. Spencer Peak was neat, the ridge down to Grand Turk was somewhat sketch with new, wind blown snow. Grand Turk is an easy jaunt from Spencer. Sultan proved to be the more tiresome of the three. Awesome summits with great views of the San Juan's. I then traversed back, under Grand Turk, over Spencer and then back into the Molas Creek drainage. 4.5 hrs round trip

Grand Turk - Sultan Loop
We completed this tour of the massif with great weather, enjoying all that the San Juans have to offer with none of the crowds. Sultan is an amazingly symmetrical peak! Taking the steep, west slope down Sultan wasn't so much fun, but it was good that we were able to pick up a use trail in the basin around the west side if the massif. Unfortunately, we ended up doing a massive detour on the CT at the end.
Great outing with the SP group! Climbed this one along with Spencer, Sultan and "West Turkshead" from Little Molas TH then enjoyed a nice group dinner in Silverton.
